im in a four pack with 2 seniors and one other girls from my pledge class. and the room is ADORABLE. clearly. plus im on the third floor wich will be the relaxed quit flooor, cuz we dont have as many people and everyone is kinda chill. but the second floor will be CRAZYYYYYY so i can go down there for a good time, but i have a place when i need to go chill

THATS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anybody who is not greek its kinda hard to understand what it means, but its a big deal. when this happens to a girl in a sorority we have to do a candel passing ceremony. basically after chapter meeting we all stood around with the lights out while we passed around a lit candle. no one knows who got laveliered exept the person (in this case ME) and the rituial chair. the first time that candel is passed around it represents sisterhood, the second time is for attachment, and the third is lavlering. when the candle gets to the girl who was lavaliered she blows it out, then everybody squeels ad rushes over. then she stands up in front of everybody and says how it happens :)

so within the greek community laviliering is a perdy well knows peocess. for the girls is so fun because having a candle ceremony is SOOOO much fun. cuz you have this HUGE secret and everyone finds out together. plus as soon as it is announced that there is a candle passing everyone goes NUTZ trying t figure out who it is. PLUS no one would have really guessed me because im technically not even a sister yet, wich means i actually got his letters before i got my own :) plus there are somme old girls that are waiting fr thier boyfriends to lavalier them so it was a suprise when it was the nebie.

but now that i think about it, nobady else i know from arlington is greek, so i suppose i should explain the significance. so a lavalier is a necklace that has your greek letters on it, so when you give it to your girlfriend it signifys that you put them above your brothers for life. so its kinda a big deal. its really exiting actually :))))

SO i had a hunch that it was coming for a while because he had mentioned it a while ago, just something about lavaliring. and earlyer this week he got a notification that he had a packedge to pick up. he thought it was going to be his sigma nu sweatshrt, so he took me with him to go and pick it up, but insted it was this smaller box that he romptly put in his sweatshirt. so i figured that it might be the lavalier....so anyway we go to formal and have a good time (for pictures check facebook, obvi) and during dinner it was cold so he put his jacket around me and i felt in the pocket and there was this little box, so that was BIG hint number two. but again i didnt say anything. so we have more fun and head back to our building. i go upstairs to grab some pjs and come down to his room and start off by complaining about how i just saw sheree blahblah etc. and then he pulls out the chain wth the lavalier and just goes "i think i have something that might make you feel better". but i had TOTALLY orgotten it, so it cought me off guard. awwwww it was so cute :)

AND i got my very own candle passing :) i think you can tell how exiting this is awwwwww

people kept asking me if i had a good time at formal and if anything exiting happend....haha yup :)

so anyway there is my big news.

hi all

its saterday and im up early!!!

last night was winie and cheese party at sigma nu, mmmm. even though nick was not there b/c he is somewhere in penn. for mock trial, we go to case....haha ohhh i love being at a notoriously nerd school, anything you do is completely acceptable! no joke, on valintines i had my choice of movie..and i totally picked STARTRECK! yes its true, startreck and wine, mmmmmmm. ohhhhh case. umm speaking of today is SIX MONTHS with nick. its cute because we have formal tonight and i borrowed this really amazing jessica mcKlintoc dress, yay for college having like a million formal/semi-formal dances!!!!! although we are supposed to catch a bus to the place with everyone else, but bf might be late :( and if he drove himself that means no drinkies for him. ughh i always think he is pissed when i am drunk and he's not, but when we are both drunk enough to have a good time without me ralfing all over the spare bedroom, its good times.

man this week has been such a beast. the whole roomate thing is hitting he fan, she is supposed to be moving out, but she is taking her sweet ass time. so for the past four nights i have not slept in my room :) im taking up the free bad in the phi mu 5 pack. yup 5 gils, 1 room. its fun though :) i really want to live in the house next year. im just on the edge of the room draw line, so i dont know about my chnces of getting bed here. its soo muc fun in the house. thers unlimited food (a good ad a bad thing i guess) always someone to hang out with. plus clothes, make-up, hair product and whatnot 20 times over. plus its so CHEAP. its like 500 bucks a semester. shit son

thursday was frat party/dinner for all the now sorority pledges at delta tau delta, wine in lisas room, beer in nicks room, then some fun durnk times, sobriety (sorta), sleep over with my phi pledge class. yay my class is awesome!! im gunna have a good time fo' sho'.

LAST NIGHT was wine and cheese party for everyone going to formal tonight. about 7 phi mu's are going so it ws fun times. plus one of my buddies who was back from co-op made legit moonshine. like from yeast and cornstarch or something like that. ehhh no dice, ill stick with the old standerd. so we got boozed up there, then lisa and i go to change for 80's party, which was sweet!!!! they had a 80's coverband there who were really good :) lots of horrible old school dancing and actng like a jackass. then BACK to wine and cheese. more wine. decided that i really needed to check my e-mail, to figue out what time to go to volenteer at the science olympiad today (haha yes).me and mel got picked up and brought back to the house. i proceeded to call nick. he tells me he need to call me back in 15 minues, but i tell him i dont know what i am supposed to do for 15 min, because clearly i was drunk and just wanted to talk right now. so i told him that i was going to study for bio (sloshed at 2 am? hello case student) but i left my book in my dorm so i took so girls ARSRONOMY BOOK? and stat in the doorway reading it. but the thing is, i REALLY wanted to red it, like REALLY. so i was trying so hard learing about how when you throuw a ball its potential energy to kineic WHATEVER. then the two of them in the room get mad at me and tell me that i couldent read it anmore and STOLE IT AWAY FROM ME. haha i was so upset, i honstly at the time really wanted to learn about the solar system, NOT BEING OBNOXIOUS, just sittin and rying REALLY hard to understand. man i was pissed. so i just called nick back and told him that i could not wait for 15 minutes because i was not being allowed to learn about the solar system :(

KARINA that reminds me, we need to get DA-RUNK together when i come back. i think our styles would mesh well together. we could study ANATOMY or something. good times :)

tomorrow morning in of. still having to finish my paper, which actually i did save a good part of in my rage. just needs a while heap of polishing. ooohh procrastination

this has been SUCH a fun vaca. sit back relax let the party come to me. im not about to drive myself crazy getting groups together and orginizing people. if people wanted to hang out with me they did, it made me end up with a lot of different people, but i had a good time. hell i let my vaca decide what i did, im not about to go crazy trying to plan/force things.

YAY i got to spend AWESOME time with kar and anna. i got some AWESOME messages that i LOOOOVEd be-otch. kar, your lj icon is a whale but it LOOKS like an infinaty symbol. do you think that is a coincidence, NO WAY!!! you are just slipping into my dreams each night, it was ment to be. awwww i cant beleve we all stayed up till 6:30 talking, i felt so intelectual. haha i love that i am writing this to only you, cuz you are the only one who reads/cares about this apparently.

hi there folks

YAY im back. holla! although i do have to say that my vaca did make a drastic turnaround on the VERY last day. being able to see everyone did make it so much better. as always the garg parties are the way to go if you want a fun no fail night. im so glad that i have people back home that are just so AWESOME! the whole transition and everything just gets tough.

ANYWAYS, i really should be doing some work, ill start it as soon as i finish (study for chem, write paper :(...) BUT the big news is that I REGISTERED FOR NEXT SEMESTER CLASSES:::::

1) BIOL 216 orginisms and ecosystems (my first real bio class of college)
2) ANTH 321 methods in archeology (with my same arch prof at the museam)
3) CHEM 106 principals of chemistry II (what the hell, ill finish out the year)
4) ESTD 398 seminar in enviornmental studies (my same crazy envsci prof!)
5) USNA 201 darwins view of life, unv. seminar (YUSSSS)

and get this, ALL of them can count twards my enviornmental studies degree. that means that i will have completed requirements for a complete envsci minor by the end of my third semester! and 4 of these also count twards an evolutionary bio degree, granted they are not going to allow me to count all those classes twards 2 majors simultaniously, its still cool to know that im actually chipping away at a real degree program :) im a grown-up now!

now that im heading into next semister i know a few things to avoid, do NOT buy your books full price at the bookstore BADMOVE

SO longstory short...

im sitting here back in a-town

i flew in yeaterday afternoon, and boy are my arms tired, im SORRY i coulnt help it.....

anyway i guess it started about a week ago when my mom calle dme and told me that my nana was sick in the hispotal and as the days went on she kept getting worse and worse. solast wednesday night my mom called and said that i should really come home because she did not have very much time left, and that if i waited till thanksgiving break i might not get to see her. SOwe bumped up my flight to yesterday and i spent the rest of the week thouroughly a MESS. aye dios mio. luckily im not really missing that much in school, just 2 classes of chem, and one day of all my other classes. im e-mailimg one of my profs a paper on tuesday, GREAT.

BUT the good news is...apparently friday morning my grandma made so sort ofcrazy recovery and i guess she is going to be ok for at least a while, HOLY MOLEY. its just been kinda a whirlwind, so anyways i kept my tickets and was able to actually enjoy my last day at school.

SO ANYWAYS friday was very good because nick had been planning a suprise for me for a while, and i actually got through the night not stressing over stiff at home. so first he took me to this adorable little brazilian resteraunt, it was really cute and had latin music and whatnot. so THEN i had NO IDEA where we weregoing, and he drove me to a theater!!!!!!! awww and we went in and he handed me this flyer and was all "so i hear this play is really good" and it was I AM MY OWN WIFE awwww i coulnt belee it cuz i had wanted to go to that showww soo badly and he dident even KNOW. honestly i know that he doesent even like going to see plays that much. it was such a good and needed night. especially b/c im going to be here for the next 9 days and the 25th is our 3 monther, but at least i get to be home and see some more of my favorite people. awww my boyfrind is so cute :) plus i got back and he had getten some of my favorite german wheat beer mMMmMMm whatta gift. plus he dowloaded "sisterhood of the traveling pants" for my on dvd, i said tha cuz he made it for me i wouldnt make him watch it. OHHH MAN such a good movie. i watched it on the plane aww i totally started crying. i NEED to read the rest of the series

also i have a paper to write by tuesday and i dont want to at alll, stuff is really crazy here, us having to go viset my grandma all day and be in the hiospital and being with my very not close/cool extended family. at this point my feelings are mixed about being back

so to make myself feel better and i went shopping at filenes! YAY i got a track jacket and a shirt for $5.98!!!!! i miss that place soo much, they are just throwing clothes at you!!!!! awwwww hartsssss

anyways it getting hella cold and im not happy, im opfff to worm up and see if we hae any hot cocoa mix

ohhhh man it was quite good/strong haha gotta love the frat parties. its aa cool group of guys there and all my pallios were there. ohhh man it/i got a little "silly". haah it was quite a fun time :-P

ANNNNNND i thin im going to take another nap, cuz im cool like that

today was the first day i woke up and it felt like a belinged here. idk it just felt like a real saterday. i could hear some of the girls talking outside, and it was rainy and now im HERE and i LIVE here :)

its cute i kinda like the dark weasather, it its just more homey. i mean warm nice weather i associate with vacation and not necesarity being at home, but where im at during the fall and winter is more home, awwwww. im kind gettin into the groove here. and meeting more people and becomong frinds with the girls on my floor. i think i can make this work :)

hey so just an update to put off going to bed

im starting to like this collge thing. i like that the library is a 5 min wlk away and i go tere about 2 times a day, more on occations. i have 9 books out right now, that accumulated over 5 days. i like that star bucks is literally 30 seconds from my dorm ,and that i can just swipe my sstudent id insted of having cash. lso the washers and dryers run off my student id cash, i havent used a single quarter. althought i have crazy laudry to do, not looking forward to it.

so today i had my am gym class, jogged for a half hour, short and sweet and fulfilling my physed requirement. went to the major fair ad felt better about bio and that i really donr need to worry about what major i want to fitmyself into because i already know what i am passionate about, i just need to find a path that will nurture that. oHHHH and im ting this self defence class. its SOOO sweet. next week is our final and the guys are going to dress up in full body suits and we kick the crap out of them. it really is impowering. i think i might freak nick out a little when i brag about all my methods for attaking the "soft zones"

but anyways tommorrow is my heavy acedemic day. i have my seminar writing course in the morning, im actually kinda likig the freedeom we get. none of us ever write the same essay because there is no formal question. at first i hated that but then i relized that i just left the door open for e to write about something that really iteresed me. i have to give an 8 mi presentation on my topic tomorrow, i finally figured it out ad it OWNS:

at home you have your own little routine with homework and writing papers
i just havent found that yet i guess

i love that starbucks is right across from my res hall
and i can use the money on my student id so i never need cash
and i love that you can add extra shots of expresso

last night i think i stayed up later than i have the whole time i have been here
witch is sad cuz it was only lke 3:30
but slept till 1, and felt kinda out of it
went to lunch and made myself a tofu and hummus wrap
i really love being a vegitarian
no joke and ts really easy at this point

so update cuz i procrastinate:

thursday:
woke up too late to shower
hit up my 8:30 seminar as a mess cuz i woke at 8:25
dragged myself to philosophy (more like ahistory of science course)
tryed very hard to stay awake
mostly failed at staying awake
which sucked cuz its a 20 person class
went back and ate poptarts
college=pop tart land
seriously i have become a poptart expert
only cuz i never wake in time to go to b-fast
wanted to take a shower but failed cuz the cleaning man was in there
i prob zoned out in my room for an hour
honstly have no memory of what i did at that point
finally made it back to the shower
got out and relized that i was skrewed
cuz i had 5 min to dry off get ready and get to a class on the other side of campus
balls, right?
yup, gave up and broke down
called mom and vented for about an hour, because:
-my laundry was not done
-my roomate and i dont have a good relationship/she doesent talk to me
-i missed my class and blamed it on my roomate
-i diden feel smart enough
-i was waaay too f-ing tired
-i missed having my finds to talk to
-i missed being able to go home and feel safe and supported
being able to call home and just talk have someone to listen to you is the best thing in the world, some timmes you just need to let it all out to be able to move on
so wth that out of my system i got up and went to my archeology class
i love that class
it made my day soo much better
its funny how class can do that
then hit up the library and did more homework
got some yummy tofu dinner and then watched amilie and felt better :)

FRIDAY:

slept till 10:30
got my laundry DONE
felt better times a million
hit up chem class at 2
went to a spa in little italy and treated myself to a very expensive manicure
got a parafin wax treatment and french tips
chilled for awhile there while drinking the complementary imported water
went back and shot pool for a while (haha i suck)
went to chipotle with dorm people(the midwests attempt at annas taqueria)
hit up improv :)
met up with my casae camp buds and hit up the sig nu frat party
met up with the boy who is now offically part of sig nu! they had a secret induction ceremony earlyer tat night and then threw thier first party of the year at the house
those parties are quite fun!!!!
left early so he could rest up for the football game on saterday

saterday:
SHOPPING! at tower city mall in downtown cleveland
yay bonding with the floor girlies
used my old navy card at the gap cu im cheap and cant afford to buy clothes with my own money....
rode around on the rapid subway, that i get on for freeeeeeee
got back showered and got LOCKED OUT
that was sweet, to the maxx, wait not really
i guess she came in and left while i was in there
luckly for me i went in there with my clothes
had t go to the administrative builing dripping wet and get a spare key
thanks!
at least now i wonr make the mistake of not bringin my key with me next time
met up with nick after they came back from kicking kenyon butt on the football feild
got my veggie wrap at the "silver spartin" diner
went to the showing of MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTEN on campus
im really cool i know
went back and hung out
downloaded 13 going on 30, but fell asleeep watching it
cest la vie

so that was most of my weekend in a rather large nutshell

i have a paper to write and clearly wrote and even less interesint entry

so its just about 2:30 on sunday night and i cant sleep so clearly it calls for an lj entry

hmmm what went on this weekend...saterday was the first home football game!! how fun we all got painted up and looked adorable as we possibly could. and clearly it worked cuz we WON 20-7. me and my bud lisa are going to start a case spiret club so we can use case funds to make glittery posters and but face paint. unfortunetly i got one hell of a half sunburn, cuz the stadium i set up so it hits your face on one side. so i am quite red on my left side. and because i painted up i got att he letters and numbers burned into my skin. now thats dedication. but no its a horrible burn. one person asked my today if i had been beaen on my clavicle.

so i went to find some aloe vera gel around here, and i went to this "food co-op store" which os AMAZING it looked like the grossest cheapest food store BUT its actually a SUPERDUPER organic and health food store. i love it. it has a million differet ypes of granola and lentils and whatnot. and it all organic and i just feel so good getting my stuff there. and et this, for burns they sold me a LIVING aloe plant WHOO its so cute and earthy. i nammed it Adelbert. dont ask its a case thung.

so i was so inspired by the co-op and its crunchyness i have decicded:

I AM GOING TO BECOME A VEGITARIAN

i dont relly know why. i just kinda want to try it. college seems like a good place to start. i had tofu toda and they always have it there. anyways it cant hurt, so i have now been a vegiatrian for a day GO ME

so its really true about collee students getting a crazy amount of sleep at crazy times. i slept till noon today woah. that doesent really happen to me ever. i stayed up really late last night cuz there was a little folk-ey group at the coffee house down the street that i went with nick to go check out and its was so cute, i love having live music. and then watched amilie cuz she is jsut so damn cute :)

but today i went to the INDIANS GAME! whoo they are my adopted baseball team. thy are just soo cute and GRADT SIZEMORE is the star of the team and is a cutie. and they WON bigtime so now i have the sox and the indians as my hometeams awwwww plus we all got our tickets for FIVE BUCKS how crazy! so we got a whoole bunch of people to go and it was a HOOT!

tomorrow i have cardio at 9 and my joke of a chem class at 2, clearly there will be napage in between

hey all

im really bored and waiting for my rents to come and pick me up, so clearly i am going to update. so camp was AWESOME im so glad that i went not only did i get to move in early but i met some really awesome people and i got to know the really well. abd i climbed my rock wall and felt really good about myself, so yuss. i still need to do something abouthow my room is arranged, i want to de-loft my bed but i have no place to put all the stuff now umderneath it.meeting people is great and so far i have introduced myself to everone i can and i found some people who e just as out there and frind happy as i am so i works out really well. classes strt tomorrow im kinda nervious i paid 600 bucks for my books this term and feel rather sick aobut it. i also signed up for all these clubs and whatnot yesterday it was quite fun, i doubt ill do all of them but it nice o have those connections. one of my pals and i got invited by oujr frat frinds to dress up with them at the football games and be SPARTIN GIRLS they are gunna make us thse aluminum skirts nd we can spread our crazyness to others. kthis has been a really boring entry and clearly does not reflect ll the awesome things hat are going on right now in my life
